Impressive Irish artist April has delivered her latest single, ‘Someone That I Made’. The verses are laid-back and down tempo, with crisp drums being fed through effects and twinkling keyboards joining the texture. Ethereal synths chords jump out during the chorus to aid the melancholic, yet uplifting melodies the alt-pop artist wrote in her old London bedroom. She describes the track as being “about being away from comfort and missing family and safe familiar places, it’s about growing up and realising everything you need is already there no matter where you go.” The well-crafted visualiser that comes with the track really dives deep into this mixture of nostalgia and hope. -Dan Peeke
